Welcome to Mystery Creek Wines.
New and exciting news.
A GOLD MEDAL for our 2013 Reserve Wakato Chardonnay
at the Spiegelau International Wine awards. Also picked up a Silver for the 2011 Reserve Central Otago Pinot Noir, Bronze for the 2013 Waikato Riesling and Bronze for the 2013 Reserve Waikato Pinot Noir.
This is the first ever award we have received for Waikato Pinot Noir so Neil and Dan (the grape growers) plus Dane (the winemaker) are just over the moon. Looking forward to growing and making more award winning Pinot Noir.

Mystery Creek Wines is a progressive, niche producer. With vineyards in the central North Island (just south of Cambridge) and Marlborough (in the Waihopai Valley) Our Waikato vines are nurtured in Horotiu sandy loam over free-draining river shingle, planted on a gentle north facing slope overlooking the Waikato River. The total planted area is 12ha. Our Marlborough vineyard (approximately 200ha (all Sauvignon Blanc)) is planted alongside the banks of the Waihopai River, in gently sloping river shingle.
The original Chardonnay grapes were planted in 1990 and sold on contract. The initial winery was built in 1999 and the first vintage harvested in 2000. More recently Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Syrah have been planted with the first wines produced in 2005.
Garry and Vicki started Mystery Creek Wines with there love and passion for fine wines in mind.
Mystery Creek Wines hit instant success when our first vintage Mystery Creek Barrel Fermented Chardonnay 2000 was awarded GOLD MEDAL in the 2001 Liquorland TOP 100. As vintages have come and gone the success in local wine shows has instilled an on-going pursuit of excellence. More recently is our GOLD MEDAL 2008 RESERVE SYRAH, awarded at the prestigious Australian Boutique wine awards 2009, and GOLD MEDAL 2008 RESERVE CHARDONNAY, from the New Zealand Royal Easter Wine Show 2010.
